A summary of recent criminal activity in Liberty, Girard and Hubbard:
LIBERTY
July 2
Drugs: Acting on a tip, police said they saw a small number of suspected marijuana plants growing in a garden in the 3700 block of Logan Way.
Criminal damaging: A garage window was broken in the 2900 block of Belmar Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A generator and a weed trimmer were removed from a shed someone had entered in the 1400 block of Mount Everett Road.
Theft: Charges were pending against an 18-year-old woman and three juveniles, two age 16 and one age 17, and all from Youngstown. More than $60 of merchandise had been stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.
July 3
Arrest: Authorities took custody of 27-year-old Christina M. Fernandez, 227 Alexander St., Youngstown, who was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
Domestic violence: A 17-year-old township boy was charged with the crime after his brother alleged the teen had head-butted him.
Arrest: Police in the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue arrested Shadane Kohler-Atkins, 19, of 1424 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. She was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court.
Theft: A trailer and a four-wheel vehicle were taken from a residence in the 4700 block of East Drive.
July 4
Drugs/weapon: While conducting a traffic stop near Colonial Drive, authorities charged 43-year-old Lewis A. Wright, 464 Crandall Ave., Youngstown, with carrying a concealed weapon, being a convicted felon with a firearm and possession of marijuana and cocaine. Found were several bags of narcotics as well as a loaded .22-caliber revolver, a report said.
July 5
Arrest: Latoya Griffin, 26, of 610 Pasadena Ave., Youngstown, was taken into custody at a township motel after police learned she was wanted on warrants from Canfield and Youngstown.
July 6
Aggravated menacing: Two people pulling away from a driveway in the 3700 block of Logan Way reported a neighbor came toward them with what appeared to be a baseball bat and that another person blocked them from leaving, forcing them to drive through a yard.
Forgery: A Northview Boulevard woman discovered someone used a computer to alter a $25 check she had written.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant home in the 4600 block of Logan Way before removing $800 worth of copper tubing from the basement.
Breaking and entering: Occurred at an empty residence in the 4500 block of East Drive after someone had cut a padlock. Copper piping was taken from the basement.
Breaking and entering: An officer checking The Lube Stop, 2913 Belmont Ave., noticed a garage window missing. An office was ransacked and a computer was missing.
GIRARD
July 5
Criminal mischief: Someone fired paint balls at a residence in the 700 block of East Liberty Street.
Burglary: To an apartment in the 500 block of East Prospect Street. A laptop computer, a digital camera and other property was stolen, for a $1,480 loss.
Breaking and entering: Someone kicked in the front door and entered a home in the 10 block of South Davis Street, though nothing appeared to be missing.
Menacing: A woman at a U.S. Route 422 gas station told authorities another woman pulled out a knife and threatened the accuser’s boyfriend.
Theft: Two $100 bicycles were taken from the rear of a home in the 60 block of East Liberty Street.
July 6
Assault: A woman at a residence in the 100 block of Belgrade Avenue reported a man, during an argument, grabbed and scratched her hand.
Menacing: An East Wilson Avenue woman told police her estranged husband has been sending threatening and harassing text messages.
Theft: Medications and a holder for a global positioning system were among the items taken from a car on South Market Street. The theft came to $265.
July 7
Theft: Solar lights were stolen from a yard in the 300 block of Forsythe Avenue.
Theft: A man’s wallet was taken from a vehicle in the 500 block of Joan Avenue.
Criminal damaging: Someone tossed a rock, causing $250 of damage to a car’s rear window in the 100 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Criminal damaging: A rock was thrown through a front window to a home in the 400 block of East Prospect Street.
Criminal damaging: A small rock was used to break a window to a residence in the 500 block of East Kline Street.
HUBBARD
July 2
Theft: A worker for an animal hospital on Hall Avenue reported a customer failed to pay for services.
July 3
Arrest: A warrant from the Hubbard Mayor’s Court was issued against Paul A. Ostavitz, who was housed at the Trumbull County jail. He was accused of failing to appear in court on a disorderly-conduct charge.
Criminal mischief: Someone pulled 150 pepper plants from a garden in the 400 block of Erie Street.
July 4
Criminal mischief: A passenger threw glass from a vehicle near Meadowland Drive.
Criminal damaging: A key was used to damage a vehicle’s finish in the 700 block of Elmwood Drive.
July 5
Criminal mischief: Someone deliberately turned on a water spigot to a building in the 30 block of West Liberty Street.
July 6
Fraud: Someone wrote two bad checks to an animal hospital on Hall Avenue.
Theft: The manager of Famous Hair, 884 W. Liberty St., reported a missing deposit.
