Heat wave results in cancellation of Bark for Life event Saturday

NILES — The inaugural American Cancer Society Bark For Life event for dogs and dog owners, planned for Saturday at Eastwood Field, has been canceled because of high temperatures and the health and safety of the pets.

The cancer society announcement, made today, did not indicate when or if the event would be rescheduled.
