Gallery to display works of area artists

Art Outreach Gallery in the Eastwood Mall will be featuring more than 100 pieces of artwork by students of Kathy Young, art instructor at Music Lessons for Us All through Aug. 1.

To kick off the exhibit, the gallery will host an artist reception and artist walk and talk from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Contributing art for the exhibit are: Salem Reese and Justin Reese, graduates of Columbus College of Art and Design; Valerie Renee Nichols, a junior at Youngstown State University; Halley Snow, a sophomore at YSU; Ben Belgrad, a sophomore at Eckerd College; Jessica Grizinski, who has a degree in early childhood development; and Nikki Mehle. who will attend Cleveland Institute of Art in the fall.

The Art Outreach Gallery also is inviting diners to support its Youth Summer Program by dining from 11 a.m. to closing time each Wednesday and Thursday in July and August at Applebee’s, 904 Great East Plaza. The restaurant will donate 10 percent of sales on those days to the program.
