Police arrested a Campbell woman and her companion on endangering-children charges after the woman’s 1-year-old son was found sitting in a closed car in 75-degree weather.
Police said they were called to the 2700 block of Market Street around 6:30 p.m. Friday to investigate a report of a child’s being left in a car.
Officers said they found an infant later identified as Anthony Krohn sitting strapped in his car seat in the back seat of the vehicle. Some of the windows were rolled down about an inch, police said.
They located his mother, Stephanie Krohn, 28, of Regent Street, Campbell, in Hooligan Ink Tattoo, along with another son, Dominic, 2, and the driver of the car, Ricky Raymond, 23, of Wood Street, Leetonia.
Krohn initially told police they were awaiting the arrival of her husband, Kristopher, to pick up the kids and had only been in the shop for a brief time.
However, officers learned they had been in the shop long enough for Krohn to get an ear pierced and Raymond to get a lip pierced.
The two were charged with endangering children. Krohn had one suspected hydrocodone tablet in her pocket and was charged with possession of drugs. There also was a warrant for her failure to appear in court on a driving violation.
Both Krohn and Raymond were arraigned and are being held in the Mahoning County jail awaiting pretrial hearings.
Police said the children were released to their father.
