‘American Idol’ tryouts at mall

Season 10 of “American Idol” begins in January and the nationwide search for contestants has begun.
Local auditions will be at 3 p.m. July 15 at Eastwood Mall. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. The order of performances will be determined by a random drawing of names at 3 p.m. and continuing every 20 minutes.
The winner will get to audition in front of “American Idol” producers in East Rutherford, N.J., and receive $400 cash for travel expenses. This year, the eligibility range is being extended to ages 15-28. Bring a photo ID or birth certificate to the tryout in order to confirm your age if necessary. Cats on Holiday at Morley Pavilion

The band Cats on Holiday, which fuses roots, rock, Zydeco and Americana music into what it calls “swamp pop,” will perform in tonight’s free concert at Morley Pavilion in Mill Creek Park. The outdoor concert facility is in the Wick Recreation area, off McCollum Road on the West Side. Cats on Holiday, which hails from Cleveland, creates a Mardi Gras atmosphere, with a rhythm section that includes a washboard player. The free concert, part of the 7UP Summer Series at the park, begins at 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Wrestling show at Ninkasis bar
BOARDMAN
Ninkasis, 1714 Boardman-Poland Road, will hold midget wrestling at 9 p.m. Sunday. Advance tickets are $20 ($30 ringside); call 330-953-2245. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $25 ($35 ringside).
