Time to feel old alert! Ringo Starr turns 70 Wednesday, and to mark the occasion, here are five notable TV appearances by the former Beatles drummer (and they don’t include “The Ed Sullivan Show” or headlining PBS’ “From the Artists Den” this weekend).

v“Ringo” (1978): This NBC special was an update of “The Prince and the Pauper.” Ringo, the world’s most famous drummer, has become bored with his life and trades places with Ognir Rats, a shy nobody who looks like him.

v“Princess Daisy” (1983): In this miniseries based on Judith Krantz’s potboiler, Ringo made a brief appearance as jet-setter Robin Valerian. Robin’s wife, Vanessa, was played by Ringo’s real-life wife, Barbara Bach.

v“Alice in Wonderland” (1985): In this TV-movie adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic, Ringo played the Mock Turtle.

v“Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends” (1984-86): Ringo served as the storyteller on the British kids’ series.

v“Shining Time Station” (1989): Ringo played Mr. Conductor in this “Thomas” spinoff that aired on PBS.

“Wipeout”: (8 p.m., ABC): The carnage continues on “Wipeout” as couples compete in an obstacle called Blob Launch. For some reason, that brings a demented little smile to our faces.

“Warehouse 13”: (9 p.m., Syfy): Season 2 of “Warehouse 13” kicks off with Pete and Myka (Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly) racking up more frequent- flier miles. They’re heading to London to gather clues about MacPherson’s evil scheme.
