Suspicious driver in court today

LISBON

The man with a Ukrainian passport who raised police suspicions with his behavior and a list of strange items in his car will be arraigned in Lisbon Municipal Court this morning.

Sergiy Matirniy was pulled over on state Route 11 just south of the Lisbon exit for speeding but refused to provide his drivers license and information to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities said his car had cameras mounted on the front and back, electronic devices, technical drawings, jugs of gasoline, a saw and a machete inside.

Police told Vindicator news partner WFMJ TV 21 they also will seek a court order to examine his car more thoroughly.

Matirniy is charged with speeding, obstruction of official business and possessing drug paraphernalia.
