Judge finds Lindsay Lohan violated her probation

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — A judge today found Lindsay Lohan in violation of probation in a 2007 drug case after prosecutors said she failed to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes.

A sentence was expected later in the day.

The ruling came during a hearing set for the "Mean Girls" star after she missed a court date in May. She has been required to wear an ankle alcohol monitor since then.

Lohan was promoting a film project at the time at the Cannes Film Festival and claimed her passport was stolen.

Weeks later, the monitor issued an alert after Lohan attended the MTV Movie Awards and after-parties. Prosecutors called it an "alcohol-related" violation.

Prosecutors had hoped to introduce reports from the monitor to show the actress also had violated a court order against drinking imposed as part of her probation.
