SENIOR CITIZENS
Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Center, 16 N. State St. Following the business meeting, a dice game will be played. Members are reminded to take canned goods for the Emmanuel Center.
Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Marilyn Boggs will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Police & Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2, Chapter 10, will meet July 8 for their summer picnic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Master’s Pavilion in Boardman Township Park. All retirees and DROP participants of the Ohio Police and Fire Disability and Pension Fund living in Mahoning and Columbiana Counties, along with their spouses and survivors, are welcome. SOAR 27-2 and 27-6, Steelworker Retirees Local Union 1330 and 1331, will have no July meeting because of the holiday.
St. Christine Seniors will meet for their annual picnic Wednesday at St. George Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown. Members are asked to arrive between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. All reservations have been collected, and there will be no tickets sold at the door. July birthdays will be celebrated, there will be a 50-50 raffle and attendance prizes, and cards and bingo will be played.
St. Nicholas Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. July 13 for a luncheon in the Great Hall. Laverne Cox will preside. Reservations are required and can be made until Wednesday by sending a check for $8 to Lora Opsitnik, 138 Iroquois St., Struthers OH 44471. New members are always welcome.
Youngstown State University Freetimers will have a breakfast at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s Restaurant on Ohio Route 224 in Boardman, All retirees, spouses and friends are welcome.
