Kiwanis club is taking a stand

CANFIELD

The Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County will operate a concession stand Monday at the Canfield Fairgrounds for Canfield’s 4th of July celebration.

The club is embracing the worldwide service project announced at the June 24-27 International Kiwanis Convention in Las Vegas. Members will be raising money to eradicate maternal and neonatal tetanus in cooperation with UNICEF. The goal is to raise $110 million to save 129 million lives.

The club meets from 6 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday at A La Cart. Anyone interested in information about joining Kiwanis can contact Barb Smith, club president, at 330-502-1460.
