MAHONING COUNTY
Austintown: Austintown celebrates our independence with a Fourth of July parade at 2 p.m. today starting at Highway Tabernacle on Raccoon Road and ending at the Austintown Public Library. The American Legion Post 301 Color Guard will lead the parade. The Post Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, VFW, various floats and Austintown Fitch High School Marching Band also will participate.
Canfield: Canfield Rotary will have fireworks at 10 p.m. today at Canfield Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5 p.m. Rain date is Monday. There will be entertainment on two stages, including Shooting Star/karaoke from 6 to 8 and 10:30 to 11 p.m.; Magma from 8 to 10 p.m.; classic cruisers from 6 to 8 p.m.; and guest appearance by O.A.R. saxophonist Jerry DePizzo and House Band from 8 to 10 p.m. and 10:30 to 11 p.m. There also will be bounce-a-rounds and food vendors, or bring your own picnic.
Struthers: The city will have its annual parade at 2 p.m. today. The parade route begins on Fifth Street at the plaza, moves to Sexton Street, then to Poland Avenue and ends on Smithfield Street.
TRUMBULL COUNTY
Howland: Township parade at 1 p.m. today; games, entertainment, music, food and more from 2 to 5 p.m. Display of Chat ’n’ Chew Choo’s model-train layout in SCOPE building, 8273 High St. For more information, call 330-856-2340 or visit www.howlandtownship.org.
Mesopotamia: The 37th annual Ox Roast Antiques & Flea Market will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at state Routes 534 and 87. There will be more than 160 dealers and live entertainment daily. A pancake breakfast will be served each day from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire station, and roast-beef sandwiches, fries and beverages will be served each day beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Warren: W.D. Packard Concert Band will perform a Fourth of July Spectacular at 8 p.m. today at W.D. Packard Music Hall, South Lawn Band Shell. Free and open to the public.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Guilford Lake: The 28th annual Guilford Lake Fourth of July Boat Parade will be at 2 p.m. today at Guilford Lake. The theme this year is Your Favorite State in the United States. Boats will line up at the Guilford Lake Public Beach area. All boats must be preregistered and insured, and liability release forms must be signed. Sign up at The Guilford Lake Grille, Mark’s Landing or the Guilford Lake State Park Office through Saturday. Prizes will be awarded at noon July 10 at the State Park Pavilion on Teegarden Road. Bring your favorite covered dish. Hot dogs will be provided.
East Palestine: A Fourth of July celebration will be from 8 a.m to 10 p.m. today at East Palestine Park. Events include games, a talent show, a duck derby, a hot dog-eating contest, a decorated bike parade, fireworks and more.
LAWRENCE COUNTY
Ellwood: Ellwood City Festival with arts, crafts, food and entertainment, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, ending with fireworks at 10:15 p.m. The festival will be in Ewing Park.
