Horticulture entries dominate flower show

YOUNGSTOWN

The number of horticulture entries for the June 19-20 flower show sponsored by the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area surpassed those entered in the design category.

Receiving special National Garden Club awards in the horticulture category were Dianna Mullins, Collectors Showcase, and Peggy Potts, Growers Choice.

Blue Ribbons in horticulture went to the following:

Rosemary Fuller, Mullins, Sheila Bowman, Charles Mullins and Martha Murphy —Nature Lovers

Potts and Pat Tarajack — Johnny Appleseed

Sally Foster and Dee Renger — Trailwood

Rose Marie Roth and Mary Lou Flere — Gleaners

Mary Schall — Austintown

Betsey Caro — MVDS

Roxanne Kaczynski, Cindy Salerno and John Salerno — Public.

Those receiving blue ribbons in the design category:

Mildred Campean and Roth — Gleaners

Charlotte Robertson — Public.

Serving as judges for the show were Esther Bertch, Mullins and Joyce Dunbar.
