Bomb squad called to suspicious vehicle on Route 11

The Ohio State Highway Patrol closed state Route 11 between the Route 154 (Lisbon) and West Point exits around 5:30 p.m. Sunday because of a suspicious vehicle.

A Mitsubishi Eclipse was pulled over for speeding, traveling southbound on state Route 11 near the Route 154 exit. Troopers noticed paraphernalia inside and deemed the vehicle “suspicious.” The Youngstown Bomb Squad was called to the area, which has now been closed to traffic, said a highway patrol dispatcher.

As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, that stretch of Route 11 remained closed.
