“Community Connection” (6:30 a.m. Sunday on WFMJ Channel 21; and 10 a.m. Tuesday on Time Warner Cable community access channel): The YSU Summer Festival of the Arts will be July 10-11, part of a weekend of festivals and a bicycle race in downtown Youngstown. Lori Factor of Youngstown State University and Phil Moore of the convention bureau will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss how people can participate. Jere Beulah of local musical group Soundoctrine will discuss the Youngstown Jazz Festival, which will run at the same time.

Museum’s hours

The Salem Historical Society Museum will be open from 1-4 p.m. Sunday afternoons in July. Last tour begins at 3:30 p.m. The Ponderosa Park exhibition, which consists of backstage doors and wall panels signed by country music stars over the years at the now-defunct venue, is being held over.

The first Centennial Park cornhole and horseshoes tournaments will be July 24. Registrations for both are being accepted for players in singles, doubles and co-rec. Cost is $10 per player and the deadline to pay is July 14 at the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St.; or by mail, payable to the Memorial Building (include phone number).
