Summers wins fifth; Sugar edges OTN

Justin Summers pushing his record to 5-0 as 1080 Media (22-2) defeated Roth Brothers, 6-3, in Class B League action.
Summers went the distance, giving up three runs on seven hits, while walking three and striking out five.
Anthony Raschilla had two hits, scored twice and knocked in a run, while Joe Aulizia had two hits, including a double. Aulizia and James Coates both scored two runs.
Matt Palo (4-1) suffered the loss for Roth, but helped his cause with two hits and an RBI. Also for Roth, Nick Reinthaler had a hit and scored twice.
Sugar 4, OTN Performance 3
Dave Sugar Excavating (17-7) used timely hitting and the arm of G.J. Senchak (4-2), who went the distance. Senchak allowed three runs on five hits, while walking three and striking out five.
At the plate, Senchak had three hits and scored a run.
Also for Sugar, Cody Pitzulo had two hits, a run scored and an RBI while John McCormick also had two hits and scored a run.
OTN’s Geoff Sanner (3-2) gave two earned runs and struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings.
Gary Revale had two hits, including a double, while Dante Lewis and Kevin Boris each added a hit and an RBI for OTN (8-16).
Roth 4, Rondinelli 3
The win enabled Roth to move within one game of second-place Dave Sugar.
Roth scored on a fielding error in the third after Cam Onderko’s leadoff double.
Roth got three more runs in the fourth, starting when Dan Calai scored on Vince Falconi’s sacrifice fly. Brock McGivern tripled and scored an Onderko also reached home for a 4-0 lead.
Rondinell got three runs in the fifth, aided by a fielding error. Zack Stein’s double, Kyle Vaclav’s RBI when hit-by-pitch and Adam Shrodek’s fielder’s choice pushed the runs across.
In relief, Jack McDonald struck out six of 10 batters.
Express 4, OTN 1
Express spoiled OTN’s chances of getting closer into hunt for the sixth and final playoff berth.
An error allowed Nick Morton to score from first base before Dan Daugherty added a run when he scored on Joe Markovitch’s single. Express pushed its lead to 4-1 in the sixth, but OTN had the tying run at the plate before Brent Messett hit into a game-ending double play.
Markovitch had two singles and Sean Mancino remained composed and got the win.
For OTN, Ryan Halicki, Dante Lewis, Kevin Boris and Messett had multiple hits.
