The exchange of nuptial vows took place during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony May 21 as Melissa Sudzina, daughter of Michael and Caroline Sudzina of Campbell, and Rafael Acevedo of Youngstown were united in marriage by Struthers Municipal Court Judge James Lanzo.

The wedding took place in the gazebo at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park, where a reception followed at the Davis Center.

The bride is a nail technician with Solar Nails in Boardman and the groom is an operating engineer with the Shelly Co. in Twinsburg.

Guava-colored gowns were worn by Gina Sudzina-Smith, the bride’s sister and matron of honor, and the junior bridesmaids, Abby Smith, the bride’s niece, and Taylor Ventura, a niece of the groom. Flower girls were the groom’s nieces, Marissa Ventura and Arianna Bonilla.

The duties of best man were performed by Anthony Davis, and ring bearer was Luigi Bonilla, the groom’s nephew. Ushers were Eli Smith, the bride’s nephew, and Alex Ventura, a nephew of the groom.
