The chapel in the historic village at Hilliard was the setting at 4:30 p.m. June 5 as nuptial vows were exchanged by Laura Hemlepp and Steven Hernandez, both of Copley.

Damian King officiated at the wedding for the daughter of Patrick and Julie Hemlepp of Hilliard and son of Robert and Terri Hernandez of Mineral Ridge.

The couple were honored during a reception at the Makoy Center before leaving on a wedding trip to Orlando. They live in Lewisburg, W.Va.

The bride’s strapless gown was embellished with beading and featured a dropped waistline.

Watermelon pink gowns were worn by Katie Baxter, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Shonda Vink, Amy Sherlock, Ashley Ruperto, and the groom’s cousin, Victoria Petruszka. Flower girl was the bride’s cousin, Ellie Pitcock.

Preston Hernandez performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Matthew Hemlepp, a brother of the bride; Ted Stadnik; Andrew Hussey; and Brett Goodyear. Serving as ushers were Zachary Pietruszka, the groom’s cousin; and Ben Hannah and Tom Hannah, cousins of the bride.

The bride graduated from the University of Akron with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition and is attending West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

The groom is a design engineer with Boltech Industries in Youngstown and is the owner of Cadre Dynamics Design Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Akron.
