The Rev. Karl Rein officiated as nuptial vows were exchanged by Karen Wenzel of Poland and Todd Steed of Bolivar during a 4:30 p.m. May 14 ceremony that took place in the gazebo at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park, where a reception followed at the Davis Center.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple live in Poland.
The bride is a daughter of Beverly Wenzel of Boardman and the late Edward Wenzel. Parents of the groom are Sharon and Mark Kempfer of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Marvin and Michele Steed of Somerton.
The bride wore an off-the-shoulder-style gown embellished with crystals and featuring a V-neckline and a train. She was escorted by her uncle Ronald Witte.
Lilac gowns were worn by the bride’s sisters and honor attendants, Katherine French, Susan Viars and Mary Wenzel. Flower girls were Natalie and Haylie Viars, the bride’s nieces.
Sean Johnson served as best man, and groomsmen were Jeff Steed, a brother of the groom, and Justin Kempfer, his stepbrother. Ring bearer was the groom’s son, Jeremiah Steed, and his other son, Jonathan Steed, was the bell ringer.
The bride graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in deaf education and from the University of Akron with an associate in sign language interpreting. She is a regional infant hearing program outreach specialist with Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center in Cleveland.
The groom is a foreman with Tower Industries in Massillon. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Malone College.
