3 local students awarded ABWA scholarships

The Mill Creek Chapter of American Business Women’s Association continued tradition and awarded scholarships to three local students.

The Mill Creek Chapter Education Committee and members awarded Brittany Reed of Canfield a $900 renewable scholarship to continue her studies at The Ohio State University. Reed is in her junior year and studying Pre-Med. She is the daughter of Candace Reed of Canfield.

Two new $700 scholarships were awarded to Gina Torek of Boardman and Robert Gross of Canfield.

Torek graduated from Boardman in June and will attend John Carroll in the fall to study Communications. She is the daughter of Jane Torek.

Gross graduated from Canfield with a 3.5 GPA in June and will attend the University of Toledo to study Multimedia. He is the son of Maria Gross of Canfield.

The scholarships will follow the students while they pursue their degrees and maintain a full-time status.

This chapter, as well as the other chapters in the Valley, has awarded scholarships in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to students from the area to attend technical schools and colleges.
