Youngstown man draws 5-year prison term
YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County judge sentenced a 20-year-old city man to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of abduction, domestic violence and being a felon with a gun.
Edward Dobran III, of Forestview Drive, drew the sentence Thursday from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
The abduction and domestic violence charges stem from an April 26 incident in which Dobran beat a pregnant woman and forced her into a vehicle against her will.
The gun charge stems from Dobran’s possession of a loaded .45-caliber gun on May 21 after he was convicted in a separate felonious assault case.
Judge Krichbaum made the five-year prison term consecutive to the two-year prison sentence Judge Lou A. D’Apolito of common pleas court had earlier imposed after Dobran’s conviction in the felonious assault case.
Dobran will be on parole for three years after he leaves prison.
