Poland’s cross country team is sponsoring its second Ultimate Frisbee tournament this July and is looking for teams. Ultimate Frisbee is a seven-on-seven combination of frisbee throwing and catching with lots of running. It is similar to soccer and football and is a game based on sportsmanship and respect.
In Poland’s tournament, teams must have two of the seven spots on the field filled by females or left vacant. Teams of 10 total players with at least three females are suggested. Games are up to 60 minutes long.
For a $100 entry fee, teams are guaranteed at least three games. Individuals who do not have a team can register as an individual for $15 and be placed on a team with other individuals at the discretion of the tournament director.
Although there is no age limit, players should be experienced and strong enough to compete against adults. The tournament will be played at the Poland Township Park in July. Specific dates will be determined based on feedback from interested teams and individuals.
T-shirts will be provided for the winning team. Two teams played in the first tournament in June.
Anyone interested in playing in the July tournament should e-mail polandrunning@yahoo.com for information by July 17.
