Police investigate Youngstown shooting

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating the case of a man who was wounded in his left thigh in a drive-by shooting at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Woodcrest Avenue. The victim was taken to Forum Health Northside Medical Center, where police said he initially was in stable condition.

Police said the victim, Deangelo Christian, 20, of Garland Avenue, had already been taken by car by a cousin to the hospital before they got to the shooting scene.

At the hospital, Christian told police four shots were fired from an eastbound gray Olds Alero, one of them hitting his leg. Christian told police he couldn’t describe the Alero’s occupants because the incident occurred so quickly.

Citing a federal privacy law, a hospital nursing supervisor declined to provide any information about Christian’s condition Thursday evening.

Judge unfreezes Go Go’s bank account

Youngstown

Judge Maureen Sweeney ruled that the Go Go Cabaret’s bank account be unfrozen.

Sebastian Rucci, cabaret owner, filed a motion in May to regain access to the club’s PNC Bank account. The account was frozen after Rucci and four club employees were indicted in April on charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, promoting prostitution, perjury and money laundering.

Judge Sweeney, of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, ruled Thursday that the account will be released upon “posting a bond in the equivalent to the highest balance in said account between the periods of April 22, 2009, through May 1, 2009.”

Rucci must post a cash bond of $2,228.24.
