MAHONING COUNTY
Austintown: Austintown celebrates our independence with a Fourth of July parade at 2 p.m. Sunday starting at Highway Tabernacle on Raccoon Road and ending at the Austintown Public Library. The American Legion Post 301 Color Guard will lead the parade. The Post Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, VFW, various floats and Austintown Fitch High School Marching Band will also participate.
Boardman: The United States Army Field Band presents a concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Park followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Canfield: Canfield Rotary will have fireworks at 10 p.m. Sunday at Canfield Fairgrounds. Gates open at 5 p.m. Rain date is Monday. There will be entertainment on two stages, including Shooting Star/karaoke from 6 to 8 and 10:30 to 11 p.m.; Magma from 8 to 10 p.m.; classic cruisers from 6 to 8 p.m.; and guest appearance by O.A.R. saxophonist Jerry DePizzo and House Band from 8 to 10 p.m. and 10:30 to 11 p.m. There will also be bounce-a-rounds and food vendors, or bring your own picnic.
Youngstown: The Lansingville Fourth of July parade takes place Saturday. The parade begins at 11:30 a.m. and will start from St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell Ave., and proceed down Zedaker, East Indianola, Taft and Murray avenues to the parking lot of the now-vacant Adams School on Cooper Street. A community picnic takes place at the parade’s end.
Youngstown: The Independence Day Dash begins at 5 p.m. Saturday with registration in Central Square at Federal Street and Wick Avenue. The first 300 people who return to the square at 9 p.m. with a sticker/ signature from five of the following locations will receive a free T-Shirt: The Royal Oaks, Cassese’s MVR, The Youngstown Club, Frieda’s, Downtown 36, Rosetta Stone, Caf Cimmento, Buffalo Wild Wings Downtown, The Old Precinct, Draught House, and The Boxcar Lounge at the B&O Station Complex. Rudy and The Professionals will be performing during the dash at the Rosetta Stone. The Lemon Grove Caf and Cedars Lounge also will be participating. Bob’s Country Bunker will be reuniting at the Lemon Grove, with a 10 p.m. performance. At Cedars Lounge, local bands Pictora, Modern Life, Gossip Culture, Eternity Zone and GFF of Hot Knees will perform. Proceeds from the dash will benefit the Youngstown Arts and Entertainment Association, an organization that promotes downtown Youngstown. Saturday also is the day of the Caf Cimmento Street Festival on East Boardman Street, which begins at 6 p.m. Bands, including Geo C and Tha Storm, and performers, including Julius Veal, will perform. At the Love Lounge, 15 W. Federal St., there will be a party with author and Youngstown native, Tysha. It’ll be hosted by TLuv and Mike Forney of the Hot Topix Book Club. The evening downtown will conclude with a fireworks display about 9:30 p.m.

Mesopotamia: The 37th annual Ox Roast Antiques & Flea Market will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at state Routes 534 and 87. There will be more than 160 dealers and live entertainment daily. A pancake breakfast will be served each day from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire station, and roast-beef sandwiches, fries and beverages will be served each day beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Newton Falls: The holiday parade will line up at 8 a.m. Saturday in front of the Church of God and will begin at 10 a.m. There will be a military fly-over, weather permitting. Family-fun day will follow at the village park beginning at 1 p.m. There will be a watermelon-eating contest, appearance by Gator the Police Dog, free food and drinks, games and prizes for everyone. Sunday DJ Mary O and Jeff will entertain from 3 to 7 p.m., Double Barrel Boys will take the stage at 7 p.m., and fireworks will be at 10 p.m. All events are free.
Warren: W.D. Packard Concert Band will perform a Fourth of July Spectacular at 8 p.m. Sunday at W.D. Packard Music Hall, South Lawn Band Shell. Free and open to the public.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Guilford Lake: The 28th annual Guilford Lake 4th of July Boat Parade will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Guilford Lake. The theme this year is Your Favorite State in the United States. Boats will line up at the Guilford Lake Public Beach area. All boats must be preregistered and insured, and liability release forms must be signed. Sign up at The Guilford Lake Grille, Mark’s Landing or the Guilford Lake State Park Office through Saturday. Prizes will be awarded at noon July 10 at the State Park Pavilion on Teegarden Road.
