Four underclass standouts compete in tournament

PICKERINGTON

Fitch High’s Amanda Callahan and Carly Ortz each batted .500 in the recent 2010 Ohio Underclass Fastpitch Tournament at Pickerington High School.

Joining Ortz and Callahan on the Northeast team were Boardman’s Brooke Meenachan and Lisbon’s Katie Snoddy.

Callahan and Ortz each had four hits as Northeast won four of its five games. Callahan stole three bases while Callahan threw out two runners trying to steal.

Meenachan batted .333 with two homers and five RBIs. Snoddy batted .250.

Northeast wins were against East (2-0), Southeast (3-0), Southwest (10-4) and Northwest (4-1). Central defeated Northeast, 8-2.
