Boardman Park concert entertains hundreds

The outdoor concert season at Boardman Park was a hit June 24 when Maag Outdoor Art Pavilion hosted “Guys Without Ties.”
The group performed classic rock and Motown favorites, including “Vehicle,” “Pretty Woman” and “My Girl.” Attendees brought blankets and chairs and were seated in front of the stage.
Concessions were provided by Calvary Baptist Church and all proceeds went toward the church’s summer camp fund. Some families picnicked on the lawn, while others sat at the park’s picnic tables.
Boardman resident Cathy Bush brought both of her pets to the concert. She said they are like a part of the family.
“They like to listen to music and be around people,” Bush said. “Concerts outdoors are nice.”
The next concert will be Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. The Big Band Sounds of the Dons Orchestra will be performing.
