Fifteen people will lose their jobs when a national distributor of baked goods shuts down its branch here later this month.

BakeMark, a wholesale supplier of baking products based in California, will close its branch here in mid-July, said Justin Averell, business representative for Teamsters Local 377, which represents 11 Teamsters working for BakeMark in Austintown. Four non-union employees also will be laid off.

The California-based company has decided not to renew its lease on its Victoria Road warehouse, which expires July 31, Averell said.

BakeMark told the union it has decided it can adequately serve its customers from its branches in Cincinnati and Buffalo, N.Y., Averell said.

The company did not return calls to comment.
