5 people attacked at Cleveland movie theater
CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in Cleveland say five moviegoers were roughed up by robbers during a showing of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz film “Knight and Day.”
Investigators say two people bought tickets for a late showing on Tuesday, entered the theater at the Shaker Square Cinemas and approached patrons to demand their wallets and purses. Police say victims were struck on the head with an unidentified object.
One man’s skull was fractured and another needed 10 staples for a head wound. Three other patrons received less serious injuries.
Police say the suspects fled the theater through a side door.
Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath says a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were taken into custody on Wednesday. Police did not immediately file charges.
