YOUNGSTOWN — The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is having a food drive and giving away circus tickets in the process.

Everyone who brings 10 cans of food to Covelli Centre between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday will receive a free ticket voucher to the March 4 performance of the circus.

There will be a limit of four ticket vouchers per family; 300 vouchers will be given out.

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley, which serves more than 11,000 people every week, will receive the food.

“We depend on partnerships like this,” said Michael Iberis, executive director of Second Harvest. “The food bank is distributing approximately 35,000 pounds of food each day, and we are continuously working to meet the need.”

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will present its Zing Zang Zoom circus for seven shows March 4-7 at Covelli Centre.

Ringmaster Alex and his assistant, Levitytia, lead audiences through worlds of fantasy that ward off a cynical Mr. Gravity and his team of “heavies” who try to bring everyone down.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Covelli box office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at ticketmaster.com and by calling (800) 745-3000. Prices are: $12, $17, $35 and $70.

Show Times are 7 p.m. March 4 and 5; 11 a.m., 3 and 7 p.m. March 6; and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. March 7.
