Ohio police chief dies amid investigation
ROSS, Ohio (AP) — A suburban Cincinnati police chief has died after being found slumped inside his cruiser during an investigation.
Officer Gary Vaughn in Butler County’s Ross Township say Chief Carl Worley was 57 and had been helping in the search for a suspect early Tuesday afternoon when an officer found him unresponsive in the car.
Worley was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is scheduled for later today to determine the cause of death.
Worley entered law enforcement only in the 1990s, when he made a career switch. He became police chief more than six years ago.
