A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Jan. 19

Stolen property: Police pulled over a vehicle near U.S. Route 224 and Duncan Drive and found five tank tops and other items thought to have been stolen. No arrests were made, however.

Burglary: To a residence in the 6900 block of Poland Center Drive via a rear door. Stolen was a large quantity of copper pipe, about 30 feet of coaxial cable and several feet of copper straps.

Theft: Authorities were investigating the theft of about $800 worth of water services from an Edgewater Drive residence, where a hydrant, pipe or meter may have been tampered with.

Jan. 20

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of Lyon Boulevard.

Burglary: Took place in the 8300 block of Morningside Drive through a side door.

BOARDMAN

Jan. 21

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter a residence in the 7300 block of Sierra Madre Drive through a rear door.

Theft: A man around age 30 left TGI Fridays, 7165 Tiffany Blvd., without paying his $34.75 tab.

Criminal damaging: Someone intentionally drove over and damaged part of a lawn in the 300 block of Brainard Drive.

Burglary: Through the front door of a home in the 4800 block of Erie Street, though police found no signs of forced entry. A handgun and jewelry were stolen.

Theft/damage: A vehicle in the 5200 block of Old Oxford Lane had a window broken, and a small amount of money was taken.

Theft: Officers booked 18-year-old Ronald J. Duvall, 433 E. Marion Ave., Youngstown, and Justin A. Vasquez, 19, of 2719 Julian St., Youngstown, who were accused of stealing six articles of men’s clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Identity fraud: A Forest Garden Drive man found out his credit card had been used to buy four articles of children’s clothing at a township store.

Theft: A 16-year-old Boardman boy was charged with stealing a $168 jacket from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Jan. 22

Theft/damage: A car’s window was smashed in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard before money, gift cards, a purse and a cell-phone charger were removed.

Theft: Jeromy L. Medovich, 28, of 311 Fifth St., Niles, and 32-year-old Jared B. Wilson, 1550 Bonnie Brae Ave., Warren, were charged, accused in the theft of Sony PlayStation 3 games from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. Medovich also was wanted on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Arrest: A traffic stop on East Midlothian Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Nathaniel D. Clark III, 230 Norwood Ave., Youngstown. Clark was wanted by city police on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: A Presidential Court woman reported her son’s medications stolen, as well as some of her jewelry.

Breaking and entering: A front window was smashed at Peskin Sign Co., 3991 Simon Road, though it appeared nothing was missing.

Jan. 23

Auto theft: A 1997 Honda Accord was stolen in the 800 block of Edenridge Drive.

Criminal damaging: Numerous scratches were on a car at a South Avenue motel. The damage estimate was $200.

Arrest: Authorities charged Erik G. Solosabal, 33, of 166 Locust Drive, Boardman, with vandalism, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing and obstructing official business after saying they noticed him trespassing at a Glendale Avenue residence. Police said they used a Taser because he was intoxicated, refused several times to obey commands and lunged at officers; Solosabal, who was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a $5,000 bond, also kicked and damaged a cruiser’s window, a report said.

Identity theft: A Windsor Road man learned his information had been used to open a cable account in Montgomery, Ala., and that it had a $200 balance.

Arrest: Police charged 28-year-old Jerome R. McGee of Market Street, Boardman, with criminal trespassing when, they said, he was asking for money at a nearby gas station despite having been issued a warning to stay off the premises.

Attempted theft: Two men tried to steal leather jackets and other property from Burlington Coat Factory, 529 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Theft: Someone removed a $300 tailgate from a truck in the 4200 block of Simon Road.

Theft: A $99 corset was taken from Con-figure-ation in the Southern Park Mall.

Criminal damaging: A car’s front windshield was damaged in the 30 block of Centervale Avenue.

Theft/damage: Two car stereos and a checkbook were taken from a vehicle that sustained damage in the 6000 block of Glenridge Drive.

Assault: A 17-year-old girl reported seven people jumped, kicked, punched and knocked her to the ground at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

Jan. 24

Attempted burglary: Took place in the 6200 block of Appleridge Drive. Also, a next-door neighbor’s motion lights were tampered with.

Theft: Two people in their early 20s paid only $30 of a $63.38 food bill before leaving Smokey Bones Barbecue and Grill, 6651 South Ave.

Theft: Two women and a man left Smokey Bones without paying a $225 food bill.

Theft: A man and a woman stole women’s clothing from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: Someone broke a rear bedroom window before stealing $12,200 worth of jewelry from an East Western Reserve Road home.

Domestic violence: Alexander J. Pascarella, 30, of 91 Roche Way, faced charges of domestic violence and disrupting public services, a felony, after his wife reported he had acted in a threatening manner at her residence and made several threats during an argument about property he wanted back. The Boardman man also took and refused to return the accuser’s cell phone as she tried to dial 911, a report said.

Jan. 25

Theft: Twenty gallons of gasoline were siphoned from a vehicle in the 5000 block of Market Street.

Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant reported a co-worker threatened to kill him.

Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 5200 block of Allen Drive, where a 37-inch, flat-screen TV was taken.
