Columbiana Republicans tap Beardsley for election board

LISBON — Columbiana County Republicans have named James Beardsley of Damascus, a dairy farmer, to the county board of elections.

Beardsley defeated three other nominees to win a seat on the board during a meeting held Saturday.

The Republican central committee elected Beardsley as one of its two representatives on the four-member board of elections.

He replaces Jerry Wolford, who did not run for another term. County Republican Party Chairman David Johnson is the other GOP representative on the elections board.

The county Democrats recently re-named Larry Bowersock to the elections board. Patty Colian is the other Democrat on the board.

State law requires both parties have two representatives on the board.

The position pays $9,755 per year.
