A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield and Austintown Township:

CANFIELD CITY

Jan. 18:

Drug trafficking: Canfield police and the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force arrested Nicholas P. Rowland, 20, 275 S. Broad St., on a three-count felony secret indictment on drug trafficking charges after seeing him in the driveway in the 20 block of Maple Avenue. A two-year investigation by both agencies accuses Rowland of selling OxyContin pills to Canfield residents and school students. He was taken to Mahoning County Justice Center to be held until his Common Pleas Court hearing.

AUSTINTOWN

Jan. 18

Theft: A Bobcat Skid Steer was stolen at Interstate 680 and N. Four Mile Run Road.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipe was taken from a vacant home in the 5000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Theft: A woman fled with merchandise at Rite Aid, 5498 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: A woman reported an ex-friend threatened to kill her the next time she sees her at The Split Level, 169 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Burglary: A home in the 900 block of Ohltown Road was broken into by the rear door, but nothing appears to have been taken.

Theft: Numerous cue items were stolen at Billiard Emporium, 4220 Mahoning Ave.

Theft of services: A cable television line was cut outside an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Jan. 19

Drug abuse: Scott McCleery, 30, 391 Wilcox Road, Apt. 34, Austintown, was arrested on an Austintown police warrant on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A change purse with cash and rings in it was stolen at Billy’s, 40 S. Meridian Road.

Theft: Police arrested Maurice D. McCain, 35, 339 Breden, Youngstown, on a charge of theft of $96.08 in miscellaneous clothing and toiletries at Dollar General, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A purse and Ohio license were stolen from a vehicle at Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Boulevard. The vehicle’s window was broken.

Theft: Kar Max, 1209 S. Raccoon Road, reported that a suspect has been purchasing parts from an auto-parts store in the company’s name and returning them for cash or keeping them for himself.

Identity theft: A vehicle was purchased in Minnesota with the victim’s information at a home in the 5000 block of Willowcrest Avenue.

Theft: Money orders were taken at an apartment in the 400 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Burglary: A miter saw was taken at a home in the 1000 block of Ohltown Road.

Disturbance: Three subjects involved in a fight had conflicting stories in the 3000 block of S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Aggravated robbery: A man wielding a pocket knife robbed the cashier of money from the cash register after checking out with a bag of chips at Unimart, 3107 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Receiving stolen property: Police charged Shawn Miller, 30, 230 Plymouth Ave. S.E., with receiving stolen property after he sold a stolen computer to Austintown Pawn, 3700 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen at Regal Cinema, 6020 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 20

Theft: A large number of tools were stolen from a construction-site trailer in the 700 block of N. Four Mile Run Road.

Bad check: A woman is a suspect in passing a bad check at Meridian Arms, 650 S. Meridian Rd.

Warrant: Police arrested Kenneth L. Reeder, 35, 235 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, on two warrants, charged with failure to appear for OVI and hit-skip, and with assault on Burkey Road at Nantucket Drive.

Jan. 21

Theft: Both license plates were stolen from an auto at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: Feces was found on the carpet and the door was scratched at an apartment in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Theft: A debit card and cash were stolen at an apartment in the 500 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Bad check: A woman is accused of passing a bad check at First National Bank, 5632 Mahoning Ave.

Robbery: A male suspect demanded money but the clerk refused and closed the cash register drawer at BP Unimart, 3107 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Jan. 22

Theft: A cell phone was stolen at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Attempted robbery: A man attempted to rob Certified Oil, 805 N. Canfield-Niles Road, but the cashier only gave him change for a 69-cent purchase and closed the cash register. The suspect showed a closed pocket knife.

Drug offense: Leah Petruzzi, 29, 2400 Hunters Ridge, Boardman, was arrested on a warrant, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at Westminister Drive.

Recovered property: A wallet was recovered in the 1600 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted calls were made to a cell phone at a home in the 2000 block of Hamman Drive.

Telephone harassment: An unidentified male caller made harassing phone calls at a home in the 1000 block of County Line Road.

Transient vendor violation: Police issued summonses to John Dale, 27, 3146 Prospect Ave., Trevose, Pa., and Jeff Turowksi, 21, 244 S. Millvale Ave., Pittsburgh, for transient vendor violations at Home Depot, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: Unauthorized withdrawals were made from an account at a home in the 600 block of Wyndclift Circle.

Theft: Kenneth Porter,58, 641 West LaClede Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on charges of theft and obstructing official business at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. Police said he was found with $127 in merchandise including three jackets and a wrist watch.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted calls were reported at a home in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted calls were made by a man at a home in the 4000 block of Patricia Avenue.

Disrupting public services: Cable lines were cut several times to an apartment in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: James Lambert,43, 850 N. Meridian Road, Apt. 419, Austintown, was arrested on a warrant, charged with probation violation after a disturbance at another apartment at Phoenix House involving two females.

Jan. 23

Felonious assault: A victim was struck by glass at Go-Go Girls Cabaret, 5455 Clarkins Drive.

Criminal damaging: About 50 feet of lawn was damaged at a home in the 1000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Theft: A front Ohio license plate was stolen from an auto in the driveway of a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged with a sledgehammer at a home in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.

Criminal damaging: A garage door was damaged with spray paint at a home in the 4000 block of Patricia Ave.

Burglary: Two male juveniles were arrested on charges of burglary at a home in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.

Criminal damaging: A lawn was damaged at a home in the 2000 block of Regdate Lane.

Resisting arrest: Three juveniles were listed as runaways by Youngstown police and were arrested in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Jan. 24

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Chippers Lounge, 5 N. Edgehill Avenue.

Theft: A phone was taken during an altercation at Club Gossip, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Shaunisia Lail, 23, 3701 Erie St., Youngstown, was issued a summons, charged with possession of marijuana at Mahoning Ave. and Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: An apartment door was scratched in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Domestic violence: A juvenile female was arrested on a charge she assaulted and threatened her mother at an apartment in the 2000 block of S. Raccoon Road.
