Register for all day kindergarten


Children entering Poland Local Schools kindergarten and new students to the district can register for fall classes Mar. 6 and Mar. 13 at Union Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Poland Board of Education will continue the all-day kindergarten program and children will attend school from 8 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Registration for Afterschool Care Program will also be available.

Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old and those entering first grade must be 6 years old by Aug. 1 to be eligible for admission, If a child attended another school for kindergarten and has a birthday after Aug. 1, they will be referred to the school psychologist before enrollment.

It is not necessary to bring your child or sibling to register. It is imperative for parents to bring the child’s original birth certificate and social security number, immunization records, proof of residency with mortgage documents, house closing papers or rental agreement, the parents’ drivers license and two current utility bills or credit card statements, and if applicable, custody papers.

A screening program has been planned Apr. 14 through Apr. 16. Parents will be given an appointment time for the screening during the registration process.
