A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:

HUBBARD

Jan. 15

Assault: A Vienna man with blood on his face flagged police and said he had been in a fight at a West Liberty Street restaurant.

Criminal mischief: Someone fired paint balls at a residence in the 600 block of East Liberty Street.

Theft: A warrant was issued against a Jacobs Road man wanted on a felony count.

Jan. 16

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 800 block of Waugh Drive sustained damage.

Jan. 17

Theft: Officers arrested 56-year-old Suzanne Bellino, 6469 Mason Drive, Hubbard, after a shoplifting situation at Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St., and upon learning she was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Jan. 19

Theft: A North Main Street boy reported the theft of a video game.

Bad checks: Canfield police held Michael Kohn, no information given, during a traffic stop. He was wanted by Hubbard authorities on a charge of passing a bad check.

LIBERTY

Jan. 15

Theft: A Youngstown man, 32, was detained but not charged after three security cameras were stolen from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road.

Drugs: A traffic stop in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue led to the arrest of 29-year-old Brian Forestal, 4527 Jo Ann Lane, Youngstown, who faced charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when, police said, a small bag of suspected marijuana and a spoon with suspected heroin residue were found.

Theft: Three people left the Aldi food store, 3497 Belmont Ave., without paying for about $250 worth of groceries as well as three comforters.

Misuse of a credit card: A Rockwood Drive man found out someone had used his debit-card number to buy $283 worth of merchandise at a Los Angeles store.

Theft: A concrete saw, a chain saw, a 48-inch pipe wrench and two other items were stolen from a vehicle at a Tibbetts-Wick Road business.

Jan. 16

Drugs: Anthony Gutierrez, 18, of 607 Northlawn Drive, Liberty Township, was given a summons after officers stopped his car on state Route 193 and said they found three bags containing a small quantity of suspected marijuana flakes.

Jan. 17

Theft: A $530 cell phone/BlackBerry device was stolen from Verizon Wireless, 4686 Belmont Ave.

Jan. 18

Theft: Keith A. Ferrell, 29, of 2311 South Ave., Youngstown, was charged with leaving Denny’s Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., without paying an $11 food bill. Ferrell also was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court on a theft count.

Arrest: Authorities stopped a vehicle on state Route 193, where they took 28-year-old Tameica L. James, of 108 S. Glenellen Ave., Youngstown, into custody. James was wanted on a warrant from Hubbard charging her with failing to appear in court on a harassment charge.

Identity theft: An elderly Goleta Avenue woman discovered someone had made four debit transactions from her credit-union account totaling $420 at an Orlando, Fla., store.

Theft: A $500 stereo faceplate was removed from a car in the 5600 block of Logan Arms Drive.

Theft: Someone entered a vehicle in the 5700 block of Sampson Road and took a global- positioning-system unit, a laptop computer and money, for a $1,800 loss.

Recovered property: A $100 bicycle was found abandoned near a mailbox in the 5400 block of Logan Arms Drive.

Drugs: Suspected marijuana was found in a vehicle that crashed near Fifth Avenue after having been in a police chase that started in the township.

Burglary: To a vacant residence in the 3400 block of Fifth Avenue through the front door. Stolen was about $2,000 worth of copper tubing.

Jan. 19

Assault: A Hubbard man at a Pinehurst Circle home reported three people jumped, beat and attacked him. The accuser suffered swelling near his left eye and several cuts to his face.

Threats: A Potter Circle man reported receiving three threatening text messages.

Theft: A Girard woman, 18, was stopped, though not charged, after having been accused of stealing six books from Wal-Mart.

GIRARD

Jan. 18

Breaking and entering: Someone entered an empty residence in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. The owner discovered it was flooded with the water still running, which apparently caused part of a ceiling to collapse.

Menacing: An East Main Street woman reported getting threats from a couple via e-mail and text message.

Criminal damaging: A bedroom window to a home in the 200 block of East Howard Street was broken. Damage came to $800.

Jan. 19

Theft: A man reported a diamond bracelet, a GPS device, several Sony PlayStation 3 games, 15 DVDs and a bottle of pills stolen from his home, for a loss of $591.

Theft: Two people were detained but not charged after two bottles of aspirin were stolen from Santiti’s IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St.

Arrest: Darlene Mihalko, of 703 Trumbull Ave., was charged with making false alarms when, police said, she called claiming someone had vandalized her car and that a group of men pointed a gun at her. Authorities found no evidence to support her claims, a report said.

Jan. 20

Theft: An East Prospect Street woman reported a $700 laptop computer, a Sony PlayStation 2 system, two cell phones and $28 missing from her home.
