Lauren Mackie sets May wedding date with Steve Bruno

BURLINGTON, Ontario — Ronald and Patricia Mackie of Burlington announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Mackie, and Steve Bruno, son of Paul and Judy Bruno, all of New Castle, Pa.

The bride-elect attends Youngstown State University and studies criminal justice. She works as a dispatcher for the Boardman Police Department.

The prospective groom graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a degree in criminal justice. He works for Mill Creek MetroParks in Youngstown.

The couple plan to be married at 1:30 p.m. May 1 in an open wedding at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.

A reception by invitation will follow at The Georgetown in Boardman.
