BOOK SALES

• Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1451 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, is seeking donations of books in good condition for a used-book sale on Feb. 27. Donated books can be dropped off at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays. For other times call the church at (330) 759-1556.

• Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road N.E., Warren, will host a Casino Night and Texas Hold ’em event Feb. 20 in the gymnasium. Doors open at 5 p.m. and play begins at 5:30. Registration and a $50 buy-in between now and Feb. 18 will receive $1,500 in chips. There will be a 60 percent payout to the top 10 players. The evening will feature blackjack and poker tables, raffles and a chuck-a-luck wheel. Walk-ins are welcome. Refreshments will be available. FLEA MARKETS

• Salem Memorial Building Association will host an Indoor Winter Flea Market and Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 20 in the gymnasium. Reservations are being taken from anyone who wants to participate; an 8-foot table with chairs can be reserved for $10. All items are subject to approval. Setup times are 6-8 a.m. To reserve a space, stop in or mail your request and donation to the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., Salem OH 44460. Food will be available at old-fashioned prices all day, such as hot dogs, hot and cold drinks, and snacks for 50 cents each. Call (330) 332-5512 for more information.

FUNDRAISERS

• FOP Lodge 42 will sponsor a fundraiser that will include dinner, drinks and a chance to win $1,000 on March 13 at St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell. The money will be used to establish a K-9 unit in Campbell. Tickets can be purchased from the police department for $50 each. Those who buy tickets will be able to take a guest for an additional $25. A 50-50 raffle, door prizes and a miniboard will also be featured. Tickets are limited. The event will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m., and dinner will be at 7. The FOP is accepting donations of pop and beer to be taken to the police department, where officers will store it until the night of the fundraiser.

• Heavenly Place Church of God in Christ, 1350 Katherine Ave., Youngstown, is planning a winter fashion show and dinner as a fundraiser for the church. The event will open at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in the church hall. An all-you-can eat buffet dinner will be served from 6-7 p.m., and the fashion show will follow. The $10 charge is payable at the door.

NIGHTS AT THE RACES

• Home and School Association of St. Joseph the Provider, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will have a Night at the Races on Jan. 30. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. with races beginning at 7. Admission is free. There will be prizes, games, free food and refreshments. Buy a horse and if the horse wins its race, you win extra cash. To purchase a horse for $10 or sponsor a race for $25 with free advertisement in the program, call the church rectory at (330) 755-0266. The event helps to cover the cost of upgrades for the school and school grounds.

RAFFLES

• St. Patrick School in Hubbard will have its annual Reverse Raffle on Feb. 20 in the church hall, 367 N. Main St. Grand prize is $2,500, with prize money totaling $3,000. Raffle tickets are $50 each and include one dinner. Extra dinners can be purchased for $15 each. Dinner will be catered by Frankie’s Restaurant in Hubbard. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails followed by dinner at 7. The raffle begins at 8 p.m. There will also be a Chinese auction. All proceeds benefit St. Patrick School. • Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
