Family gathers to mark Leonards’ 60th anniversary

COLUMBIANA — Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Leonard of Kingwood Drive celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 11.

Family members gathered for a private dinner and the Leonards then vacationed in Florida.

Mr. Leonard and the former Jacqueline G. Snyder were married at Trinity E.U.B. Church, York, Pa., on Nov. 11, 1949.

They are the parents of two daughters, Deborah (David) Detwiler and Renee (Larry) Miller. Their family includes grandchildren David D. Detwiler, Nicole Miller Shuto, Lauren Miller McAndrew, and great-grandchildren Hayli Davidson, Quenton Cross, Xathon Cross, Easton Shuto and Cora McAndrew.

The Leonards have been active members of First United Methodist Church, Columbiana, for 53 years. Both both attended Kent State University Salem Campus.

Mr. Leonard retired in 1997 as senior salesman, director and part owner of Yorktowne Caskets in York after 48 years of service. He is broker-owner of Donald E. Leonard Realty. He also served 61‚Ñ2 years on Columbiana City Council. Mr. Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
