King Day luncheon

The post and it ladies’ auxiliary sponsor the annual luncheon at the post home Monday. Other highlights of the event:

Dr. Wendy Webb will receive the post’s annual Trailblazer Award in recognition of her being the first black woman to serve as superintendent of the Youngstown City School District.

Guest speaker is the Rev. Dennis T. Garner, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Youngstown.

Event co-chairmen are Herman Adams, Earl McAlway and Katherine Williams. Lloyd O. Mims Sr. is Post 6488 commander, and Sandra Smith-Graves is ladies’ auxiliary president.
