Q. What do you like best about living in your town?

A. The people and the schools.

Q. What one thing would you add to your town if money was not an issue?

A. Build a football stadium on the high school campus. Since I have been involved with high school band and attend the football games, I see how unsafe our bleechers are compared to the other schools we play. It is obvious that Spartan Stadium is in need of a lot of repairs.

Q. Describe the last community event you went to.

A. Oktoberfest. I think this is a great event that is put on each year and it benefits both the community as well as the people who participate.

Q. If you could name a street after someone, who would it be?

A. Denise York. Several years ago, my daughter wrote to her and since then she has been very generous and willing to help with different events that Rachel has been involved in, such as Cookies for the Military through Girl Scouts and Glenwood Middle School cheerleaders at the YSU Pink Ribbon Classic. I appreciate the fact that she took the time to read my daughter’s letter and personally responded and has continued to do so the last few years.

Q. Where is your favorite place in town to go for a little hideaway time or bite to eat?

A. My family likes to go to Bob Evans. We always get a good meal and it is kid-friendly. We also like to go to Sports World. It is a place that we can go as a family and there is something for all of us — the kids love to ride the go-carts and we like to play mini golf.

Q. What one place would you direct an outsider to visit to experience your town?

A. Boardman Park. There is usually always something going on there, whether it is summer night concerts, movie night or light displays during Christmas.
