YOUNGSTOWN — Jeff Chahine scored 21 points, John Stoops scored 11 and Chuck Gruber grabbed eight rebounds for Mooney (7-2), which was outscored 29-19 over the second and third quarters. The Cardinals’ only other loss came against Warren Harding. Pitt recruit Cameron Wright scored 24 points to lead Benedictine (7-1) while Nick Harney added 18 and Derek Jackson had 15.

NILES — Ryan Frantz scored 13 of his 19 points in the second half to pace the Red Dragons who trailed 27-23 at the break. Bobby Marino, Saul Vaughn, Cory Floyd and Joe Moss scored 14, 11, 10 and 10 points, respectively, for Niles. Travis Lynch scored 17 points and Kyle Knepper had 16 more for the Beavers. Beaver Local was outscored 29-19 in the third quarter and 23-10 over the final eight minutes.

COLUMBIANA — Senior Trevor Reiser scored a career-high 18 points and East Palestine (8-2, 6-0) jumped out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter in an Inter Tri-County League Tier One game. Ben Gysin added 21 points and eight rebounds and Austin Cope scored 14 for the first-place Bulldogs. Adam Coppock scored 10 for Crestview (2-8, 1-5).

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Ryan Sarchet scored 16 points while Ryan Powell and Josh Miller each contributed 12 for the Golden Eagles, who made 21 of 26 free throws. For the Tigers (3-6, 2-4 ITCL TierOne), Tanner Avnet and Nick Russell each scored 15 points while Jimmy Zubick netted 14.

NORTH LIMA — Brandon Pluchinsky tied a school record with six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points to pace South Range (7-4, 6-1 ITCL Tier One). Andy Lacefield added 17 points and Nathan Ruiz grabbed 10 rebounds for the Raiders, who took a 17-9 lead after one quarter. Bobby Cameron scored 14 points to pace the Rams (3-5, 2-4).

COLUMBIANA — Tyler Denmeade scored 31 points to lead Columbiana, which outscored Lisbon 20-5 in overtime to pull away. Logan Goist scored 15 points and Luke Barker had 14, including four 3-pointers, to lead the Clippers (6-5, 4-3 ITCL Tier One). Nick Good had 10 points. For Lisbon (4-6, 1-5), William Bowyer scored 23 points with 12 rebounds, Patrick Gresh had 18 points and four steals, and Matt Metzgar had 10 points and nine rebounds.

McDONALD — Matthias Tayala scored 21 points to lead McDonald (9-0, 6-0 ITCL Tier Two), which took a 21-3 lead after one quarter. Justin Rota added nine points in the victory. For Reserve (3-7, 1-5), Jake Barker scored 10 points.

SEBRING — Trailing 44-34 to start the fourth quarter, Sebring took the lead with 3:30 left thanks to a 13-2 run. But baskets from Dennis Davis and Mauro Amendola gave the Rockets a 50-48 edge with 25 seconds remaining, and steals by Davis and Anthony Alfano helped seal the win for the Rockets (7-3, 5-2 ITCL Tier Two). Davis scored 12 points and Amendola had 11. For Sebring (6-3, 3-4), Trevor Eaton scored nine points.
