Dominion East plans gas-line shutoff

STAFF REPORT

Dominion East Ohio will shut off service briefly to 66 natural-gas customers as it replaces a natural-gas line that runs through Hubbard, Coitsville and Youngstown.

The project will replace 6.4 miles of natural-gas lines on South Main Street in Hubbard and Coitsville Center Road (state Route 616) in Coitsville and Youngstown.

Work also is scheduled for the following streets: West Park Avenue, Jackson Street, West Liberty Street, Christian Avenue and Scott Street in Hubbard and Ron Lane, Nelson Avenue and Oak Street Extension in Youngstown.

The work will begin Tuesday and is expected to be completed by May 31.

When service is shut off, it will generally be from one to three hours, Dominion said. The company said it will attempt to notify customers 24 to 48 hours before a shutoff.

Dominion personnel, or a contractor working for Dominion East Ohio, will relight customer appliances once work is complete.

Once the gas-line work is complete, restoration of sidewalks, driveways and approaches will begin as soon as weather permits. Typical yard restoration is limited to grading and seeding.
