Body of man missing since car crash found in Cleveland creek
CLEVELAND (AP) — Searchers have found the body of a Cleveland man who disappeared last week amid confusion over how many people were riding in a car that wrecked.
The body of 49-year-old Robert Lathan Jr. was found Thursday in an icy creek near Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood. A volunteer crew from a Texas organization led the latest search.
Coroner’s spokesman Powell Caesar said relatives identified the victim.
He said an autopsy will be done, probably today.
Police said the man’s brother gave conflicting information on who was riding in a car when it crashed near the creek last week.
One family member thought the missing relative might have been in the wreck, but the brother wasn’t sure what happened after they drank together.
