ACTORS

“Brigadoon.” New Castle Playhouse, 202 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa. Auditions are 4-6 p.m. Jan. 24 and 6-8 p.m. Jan. 26. Needed: four male leads, singing/dancing, age 20-60; two male leads, nonsinging, age 35-60+; two female leads, singing/dancing, age 22-28; one male, age 20-25; one female, age 18-20; 12 male and 12 female chorus (no one under age 16). “Curtains,” musical comedy whodunit. Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown. Auditions are 7 p.m. Jan. 28 and 29. Needed: large cast (25+) males and females, 16 years and older. Bring sheet music and perform a one-minute vocal selection; accompanist provided; be prepared to dance and read from script. Bring wallet-size photo. Call backs 7 p.m. Jan. 31. “Nunsense.” Pittsbugh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, Penn Ave. Place, 130 CLO Academy Way, Pittsburgh. Auditions are noon to 8 p.m. Jan. 31 for female singers/ actors who move well. Basic tap and pointe a plus. Performers of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to attend. Performers must be available March 1 through June 6, have good comic timing and be comfortable singing harmonies, bring a headshot and typed r sum stapled together, prepare a one-minute comic monologue, prepare 16 bars up-tempo and ballad that show your voice at its best, turn in a completed audition application, bring legitimate sheet music in your key with cuts clearly marked. Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Tri-C Metropolitan Campus Auditorium, downtown Cleveland. Auditions are ongoing for section strings (violin, viola, cello and bass), substitute brass and percussion for the 2009-10 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 p.m. Thursdays.
