Miami defeats Kent State

OXFORD (AP) — Kenny Hayes scored 19 points and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in overtime to lift Miami (Ohio) to a 55-53 victory over Kent State on Tuesday night.

Hayes’ second of two free throws with 1:32 left in overtime gave the RedHawks (4-11, 1-1 Mid-American Conference) a 52-51 lead and they never trailed again to snap a four-game losing streak.

Hayes added two more free throws for a 54-51 lead with 54 seconds left.
