East girls upend Harding, 59-52


WARREN — Chelsea Bennett scored 17 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists for the East High girls basketball team, which outscored Warren Harding 26-16 in the fourth quarter to hand the Raiders their first loss of the season, 59-52, on Tuesday.

Bethany Hines added 14 points, four assists and two steals for the Panthers (7-4), while Lesa Oliver had 11 points and 14 rebounds and Briana Dawson had 10 points, six rebounds and two steals.

Kourtney Williams scored 15 points to go with six rebounds, two steals and two assists for the Raiders (7-1), who were out-rebounded 42-30.

Jasmine Kirkland added 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals in the loss, while Anita Brown had 12 points, six rebounds and four steals.
