Police seek 2 in Pittsburgh jewelry store heist

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police are looking for two men who robbed a family-owned jewelry store during daylight business hours.

Police say one man had a gun and another had a crowbar that he used to smash display cases, filling a bag with earrings, necklaces and other jewelry from Henne Jewelers in the city’s upscale Shadyside neighborhood.

John Henne says two customers and four other employees were in the store with him when the robbers entered about 1 p.m. Monday

Henne says it was the first robbery in his 17 years running the business. The store was founded 123 years ago by his great-grandfather.

The robbers were in the store for just a few moments then ran away. Police say security cameras recorded the heist.
