Pa. district attorney looking into school official sex allegation
SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania prosecutor is looking into a sex abuse allegation against the superintendent of schools for a Roman Catholic diocese.
Luzerne County District Attorney Andy Jarbola said Monday that his office is looking into claims reported to the Diocese of Scranton about Superintendent Joseph Casciano.
Jarbola says the statute of limitations has run out in the case but his office is reviewing the allegations of inappropriate touching.
Casciano has taken a leave of absence. Diocese officials have not given a reason for the leave.
A phone listing for Casciano could not immediately be located today.
