Home of Ohio man accused of drowning is sold
LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — The southwest Ohio home once shared by an Ohio man and the wife he is accused of drowning in the house’s bathtub has been sold at a sheriff’s auction for $110,000.
The U.S. Bank of Owensboro, Ky., bought Ryan and Sarah Widmer’s home in Warren County’s Hamilton Township today. The bank held the mortgage on the foreclosed four-bedroom home that auditor’s records valued at $165,000 and made the only bid.
Ryan Widmer is awaiting a second trial in his wife’s August 2008 death. He was convicted in April of killing her, but the conviction was overturned by a judge after allegations of juror misconduct during deliberations.
Widmer is free on bond while awaiting a March trial.
