Spinners singer is guest on ‘Deb ≥rah Live’ show
YOUNGS-TOWN — G.C. Cameron, a singer with R&B vocal groups The Spinners and The Temptations, will be the guest on the “Deb ≥rah Live” show at 6 p.m. Friday in the show’s studio on the fourth floor of the PNC Bank Building, 16 Wick Ave., downtown.
Cameron is known for hits such as “It’s A Shame.”
A reception with Cameron will follow the show. Tickets to be in the studio audience are $10 and are available online at thedeborahshow.com; by calling (330) 746-1109; and in person at Goldie’s Flowers on Belmont Avenue. Tickets will also be available at the door. Seating is limited to 200.
Frostbite Foodtaste Footrace warms up
SHARON, Pa. — Quaker Steak & Lube and eight other downtown Sharon restaurant-bars will host the 22nd annual Frostbite Foodtaste Footrace on Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.
The event offers free food and drink specials at each location. The $12 entry fee benefits the Prince of Peace Center’s Help Heat Homes Program.
Stops this year include: The A.C.T. Inc., the Russian Club, Billy’s Black & Gold, Our Gang’s Lounge, Side Pocket Caf , The Wave, The Marigold, Quaker Steak & Lube, Tailgate Party with Basilone’s and Tully’s.
The first 600 people to sign up will receive a free souvenir hat and T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in the race for male and female categories. Prizes will also be given for best attire (male and female), best food critic (male and female), party pack and last place finisher.

Canfield Concert Band to give winter concert
CANFIELD — The Canfield Community Concert Band is presenting a special winter concert at 3 p.m. Jan. 17 in the Canfield High School Auditorium.
Admission to the concert will be canned goods or cash donations to benefit Operation Blessing, which provides food to needy families in Mahoning County.
The band, under the direction of Anthony Cebriak, will perform marches, classical and Dixieland song. The band rehearses every Tuesday evening at Canfield High School; musicians from the Valley are welcome to participate. It performs at nursing homes and in area parks, and presents two indoor concerts each year.

Hoyt winter classes are ready to begin
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts’ winter classes will begin Tuesday.
Among the courses are perennial favorites photography, watercolor painting, piano instruction and foreign languages, as well as several new courses.
New to the teaching staff is Adrienne Grafton, a graduate of East Carolina and Edinboro universities who is working at the Studio Situation in Pittsburgh. Grafton will teach Enameling on Copper, which introduces a variety of techniques including sgraffitio, cloisonn , bassetaille and foil applications.
Also new is Nancy Hawkins, who studied at Fort Wayne Art Institute before receiving a degree in painting and drawing from Kent State University. Hawkins will offer a Plein Air class in landscapes and city-scapes in the Impressionist style.

Dance will benefit Alzheimer’s Association
GIRARD — “A Dance to Remember” to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association will be Feb. 12 at Kuzman’s, 1025 S. State St., from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Entertainment will be provided by Savoy, Carl Severino and Stephen Berba.
