Meet the man How he got started
My name is David Einzig. I grew up in Trumbull County and graduated from Liberty High School in 2003.
I studied English and Spanish at Ohio State University and graduated in 2007.
Since then, I set off on a journey that has taken me from coast to coast of the United States, all over the Yucatan Peninsula, Cambodia, China and, recently, South Korea.
I started to research teaching opportunities in South Korea in September 2008; by December of that year, I was in South Korea. All of my research was conducted via the Internet, and I was hired by one of the many independent contractors who are hired by public and private schools in Korea and who use the Web to “recruit” English speakers in order to fill teaching positions all over the country.
Although South Korea has recently made its way to the international economic stage with brands such as Hyundai, Samsung, Kia and LG, most Koreans speak no English. Korea views this language barrier as a weakness and, therefore, has imported tens of thousands of English speakers each year for more than a decade to fill the ever-growing demand for English-speaking education.
